Corn oil

Corn oil (CAS 8001-30-7), also commercially known as maize oil, is a refined vegetable oil pressed from the germ of corn kernels.

Where is Corn oil used?

• Food manufacturing: frying and cooking medium in snack foods, margarines and salad dressings, with a high smoke point for high-temperature processing
• Personal care: emollient base in skin creams, hair conditioners and massage oils
• Industrial: base fluid and lubricant in metalworking formulations such as cutting fluids and release agents
• Nutritional supplements and pharmaceutical soft-gel capsules: solvent and carrier for fat-soluble active ingredients
• It also serves as an edible carrier.

• Refined, bleached and deodorized (RBD) grades for food and cosmetic applications
• Crude and expeller-pressed variants for industrial or further-processing applications
