Description

Rabeprazole (CAS 117976-89-3), also referenced in development literature as E-3810 and LY307640, is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) active pharmaceutical ingredient used in the treatment of acid-related gastrointestinal disorders.

It functions by irreversibly suppressing gastric acid secretion, making it a target API for finished dosage form manufacturers and generic drug developers worldwide. Rabeprazole is the active ingredient in delayed-release oral solid dosage forms.

These are primarily enteric-coated tablets and capsules formulated to treat conditions such as gastroesophageal reflux disease, peptic ulcers, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Generic pharmaceutical manufacturers source the API to produce bioequivalent formulations.

These formulations are intended for regulated markets in the US, EU, and Asia-Pacific. Contract development and manufacturing organizations (CDMOs) also procure it for combination therapies, including H. pylori eradication regimens paired with antibiotics.

Formulators working on pediatric or modified-release formats may source it as an intermediate for specialized dosage development. Rabeprazole is supplied as a white to off-white crystalline powder.

The sodium salt form (Rabeprazole Sodium) is the predominant commercial grade. Material is available to USP, BP, and Ph. Eur. pharmacopoeial standards, supporting regulatory submissions across major markets.

Packaging is typically offered under inert atmosphere or moisture-controlled conditions to maintain API integrity during storage and transit. This ensures the chemical stability required for long-term pharmaceutical manufacturing.
