Where is Gluconic acid used?
- Food and beverage: acidulant for smooth, non-astringent sourness in dairy products, baked goods and mineral-fortified drinks
- Pharmaceutical: production of mineral gluconate salts with controlled bioavailability of calcium, iron or zinc
- Personal care: chelating agent and mild exfoliant in rinse-off and leave-on skin formulations for sensitive skin
- Water treatment: sequesters calcium, magnesium and iron ions to prevent scale formation and improve cleaning and concrete admixture formulations
